Total ranked 57th at the « Global 100 Index » of the World’s most sustainable companies

On January 22nd, the investment advisory company Corporate Knight released its index of the world’s most sustainable corporations in the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Total ranked 57th at the “Global 100 Index” out of more than 7.500 companies across all industries and is one of only two integrated oil and gas firms to qualify for this 2019 edition. The Group In order to establish this ranking, Corporate Knights used various indicators shaped in the spirit of the United Nations’ Sustainable development goals. Numerous social, environmental and governance indicators such as the role of women in workplace, energy efficiency, waste discharges and processing were analyzed.

It is “a nice acknowledgment of our ambition to become the responsible energy major” declared Patrick Pouyanné, chairman and CEO of TOTAL on his Twitter account.
