Human Rights - UNGP

Respecting human rights is one of Total’s priority principles. Present in 130 countries, the Group is committed to respecting human rights wherever it operates.
In July 2016, Total published its Human Rights Briefing Paper becoming the first Oil & Gas company to report on the basis of the UN Guiding Principles Reporting Framework of February 2015. In line with this framework, Total has identified its human rights salient issues and explained how it manages these risks.
Updated in 2018, the Human Rights Briefing Paper provides an overview of the progress accomplished since 2016, of the challenges and continuing efforts remaining to consolidate Total’s commitment for human rights and to integrate them even deeper into the Group’s operations and business relations.
Driven by its ambition to become the responsible energy major, Total will never cease to continue its efforts in favor of human rights.
